Collection of personal data for the informational use of the website

When using the website for information purposes only, i.e. if you do not log in to use the website, register, click on social media plugins or otherwise provide us with information, we do not collect any personal data, with the exception of the data that your browser transmits to enable you to visit the website.

These are:

  • IP address
  • Date and time of the request
  • Time zone difference from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Content of the request (specific page)
  • Access status/HTTP status code
  • Amount of data transferred in each case
  • Website from which the request came
  • browser
  • Operating system and its interface
  • Language and version of the browser software

Data processing is carried out in particular to analyse the internet traffic of our website, to improve the functionality of our website and for advertising purposes. The processing of your data is necessary to protect our legitimate interests.

Insofar as you have given us consent to process your personal data for specific purposes (for example, when you register to receive newsletters), we process your personal data within the scope of and based on this consent, insofar as we have no other legal basis and do not require such a basis. Consent given can be revoked at any time, but this has no effect on data processing that has already taken place.

Data categories and data origin

We process the data that arises in the course of using our website or the data that is provided by you (for example, when you register to receive newsletters).

Recipients

Within the scope of our business activities and purposes, we also disclose personal data to third parties to the extent permitted. In particular, this involves the following data recipients:

  • Service providers of Exeon group companies, including the companies and order processors mentioned in this privacy policy (e.g. IT providers).
  • Third parties in the context of the fulfilment of legal obligations

These recipients are partly in Switzerland, but may also be abroad. In particular, you should expect your data to be transferred to other countries in Europe and the USA where the service providers we use are located (such as Microsoft). If we transfer data to a country without adequate legal data protection, we will ensure an adequate level of protection by using appropriate contracts as provided for by law or relying on the legal exceptions of consent, the performance of contract, establishment, exercise or enforcement of legal claims, overriding public interests, published personal data or because it is necessary to protect the integrity of the data subjects.

Use of cookies

We typically use "cookies" and similar technologies on our websites to identify your browser or device. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive in relation to the browser you are using and which provide the party setting the cookie (in this case, us) with certain information. They are used to make the website as a whole more user-friendly and effective and to analyse the surfing behaviour of website visitors.

The Website uses the following transient and persistent cookies: https://exeon.com/cookies

Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period of time, which may differ depending on the cookie. You can delete the cookies in the security settings of your browser at any time. Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. These include, in particular, session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, with which various requests from your browser can be assigned to the joint session. This enables your computer to be recognised when you return to the website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.

In accordance with applicable law, we may store cookies on your device if they are technically necessary for the operation of the website. For other types of cookies, we need your permission, which you can give by clicking on the corresponding fields in the pop-up button. You can configure your browser settings according to your wishes and, for example, refuse to accept third-party cookies or all cookies. However, we would like to point out that you may then not be able to use all the functions of this website.

Exeon's presence on social media

The plugins from social networks used on our website are generally set up in a 2-click process. This means that the respective plugins are only activated when you click on the provider's icon.

LinkedIn (Insight tag)

We have a profile on LinkedIn. On our website, we use the so-called LinkedIn Insight Tag. The LinkedIn Insight Tag is a simple JavaScript code. With the help of this technology, information on website interaction can be created.

Via the LinkedIn button embedded on the website, it is possible for LinkedIn to record visits to the website and assign them to your LinkedIn profile if you are logged in to LinkedIn at the same time. This data can be used to offer content or advertising tailored to you. If you wish to avoid this, you should log out of LinkedIn or deactivate the "stay logged in" function, delete the cookies present on your device and close and restart your browser. You can disable cookies from LinkedIn on your LinkedIn settings page https://www.linkedin.com/settings/?trk. If you wish to access interactive features from our LinkedIn profile (Like, Comment, Share, Message, etc.), a LinkedIn login screen will appear. After any login, you will again be recognisable to LinkedIn as a specific user.

The data collected about you in this context is processed by LinkedIn and may be transferred to countries outside the European Union. In LinkedIn's privacy policy at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy, you will find further information on data collection and data use as well as the options and rights to protect your privacy.

YouTube

We use the YouTube platform to post our own videos and make them publicly available. In the event that you follow a link to YouTube on our website, we would like to point out that YouTube stores user data (e.g. personal information, IP address) in accordance with its own privacy policy and uses it for business purposes. Here, you will find further information on data collection and data use.

ClickCease and SEMRush

Microsoft Clarity

We use Clarity, a web analytics tool from Microsoft https://clarity.microsoft.com/, to record individual visits (with anonymised IP addresses only). This creates a log of mouse movements and clicks with the intention of replaying website visits and deriving potential improvements for the website from this. The information is not personally identifiable and will not be shared.

For more information on how Microsoft Clarity works, please see the Microsoft Clarity privacy statement at: https://privacy.microsoft.com/de-de/privacystatement

By retrieving these from our servers, we can determine whether and when you have opened the email so that we can also measure and better understand how you use our offers and tailor them to you. You can block this in your email programme.

We delete your data as soon as it is no longer needed and in any case after the maximum retention period prescribed by law has expired.

Data Security

We maintain up-to-date technical measures to ensure data security, in particular, to protect your personal data from risks during data transmission and from third parties gaining knowledge. These are adapted to the current state of the art.

The exercise of such rights usually requires that you clearly prove your identity (e.g. by means of a copy of your identity card where your identity is otherwise not clear or cannot be verified). To exercise your rights, you can contact us at the above address.
