How Exeon’s AI-powered solution provided the leading logistics & transportation company full visibility over their highly distributed network, and robust IT/OT protection without additional hardware, deployed in just a few days.
Initial situation

Planzer’s business context

Operational resilience through Swiss-made security measures

With 1.2 Bio. CHF revenue, Planzer is a transporter and warehouse logistics company operating in 18 countries via 79 locations, transporting goods and parcels by road and rail. As Planzer’s day-to-day operations highly rely on digital systems, downtime simply is not an option, which is why their road led to Exeon.
Challenges

Cybersecurity roadblocks in transportation

Planzer’s challenges, common to the logistics & transportation industry, included operational resilience, securing their critical legacy systems, and finding the easiest solution to deploy and integrate without compromising on security.

Scalability without additional hardware

as Planzer’s 79 locations to cover worldwide require effortless integration with existing network logs and infrastructure.

Growing threats in logistics

on the supply chains of firms such as Planzer demand a proactive security approach to detect and mitigate threats before any operational disruptions occur.

Full coverage of legacy systems

which remain essential for daily business operations but are especially vulnerable to attacks since they can no longer be updated.

Customer journey

How Exeon.NDR made the difference

Azure cloud deployment

Exeon presented their hardware-free solution that is cost- and time-efficient both in set-up and in operations for Planzer’s evaluation. The 100% software-based Exeon.NDR was deployed as a virtual machine in the customer’s Azure cloud. The set-up for the numerous locations only took a single day.

Proactive monitoring

Through this integration, all Planzer sites and networks can be monitored. With the algorithm-driven threat scoring, their network is constantly under a “magnifying glass”, and anomalies and potential attacks are immediately reported via an alert.

Data for defense

The Planzer security team easily navigates through the log data to go back in time in case a security incident or problem happens: anomalies consider historic data and make them visual in order to find root causes efficiently.

High efficiency

As a consequence of this efficiency, Exeon.NDR is now not only used by the security team, but also by the operations department in order to monitor the usage of the systems across all locations, to plan, and to verify network changes.

Protected legacy

With highly protected legacy systems and clever data handling, including flow data collection (NetFlow) from multiple global locations, Planzer is a satisfied, long-term customer, representing a milestone in Exeon’s existence.

Financial sector: Monitoring ATM machines continent-wide

ATM machines are very closed machines by default, so monitoring them is quite difficult as you cannot install any agent on them. Hence, the Exeon team used a different approach—an example of how extended logs in Exeon.NDR are used to create completely new use cases and solve even complex requirements in a very simple way.
